Project Statement

In today's Canadian restaurant service industry, it is not uncommon for some customers to wait for long periods of time while ordering or checking out due to insufficient staffing levels. The design concept of this project is to keep the manual ordering service and checkout, and at the same time, open up more payment methods through online payment, and also design the online split-order payment function, which allows customers to choose to split the price by average or according to the dishes, to improve the efficiency of the restaurant service and at the same time, realize that when multiple customers split the order, they can use different split-order methods.

a) Analyzing Problems

Process

b) Main Challenge

How do we communicate in a clear and simple way that when a customer chooses to spread the total cost, they can choose between different ways of spreading the cost, and how do we quickly show the customer how the price will change if they choose a different way?

Merchants (managers of catering businesses).

Newly opened small and medium-sized restaurants or restaurant owners from other countries, who may be looking to improve efficiency, minimize ordering errors, and increase customer satisfaction by using an online ordering website. Also, online ordering can track customer ordering data collection and analysis to optimize marketing strategies and menu design.

Customers (frequent family gatherings, younger age group).

Users who do not want to cook for themselves and prefer to eat at restaurants or order takeout, looking for a fast and convenient ordering solution to save time. They often eat with friends or colleagues and need an easy way to manage orders and share costs. Avoid some awkward situations when sharing orders.

Design Concept

Design a website with an online ordering function that allows the user to choose how to pay for the order at the checkout.
